Some people livin' high on the hog I live the simple life with no problems at all These are my roots, these are my roots The tracks were my friend The old half tonne barely ran I got six siblings gone But I am not alone These are my roots, I'm not alone, hey hey Chorus: My roots grow strong and deep I can feel it in my feet From my head to my toes And the earth down below These are my roots Now some peeps have changed And t'other way I'm diggin my own trench Gonna fight till I'm dead These are my roots, I 'll move ahead Repeat Chorus Now don't think of me Old fashioned and square I want my 45's And still know I can jive These are my roots I'm 45 and I can jive! Repeat Chorus

Deceived 03:35
Seems like every time I start somethin' Its breaks apart like bread in my hands I met you and I dreamed of heaven But what we had seeped through like sand Chorus: Deceived Broken and betrayed Deceived It cannot stay this way Only my heart tells the truth Of my next move Where am I going to? Now every time I see you in the street It makes me want to scream out loud How can you smile and say "see ya soon"? All I want is to run and shout Chorus Break Even when your heart is healed and done And the tide is going out I thought I could stand alone again But I wish I had never met you before I was.... Deceived.... Of my next move.

Oh the summertime is coming And the trees are sweetly blooming And the wild mountain thyme Grows around the blooming heather Will ye go, Lassie go? Chorus And we'll all go together To pluck wild mountain thyme All around the blooming heather Will ye go, Lassie go? I will build my love a tower Near yon' pure crystal fountain And on it I will build All the flowers of the mountain Will ye go, Lassie go? If my true love she were gone I would surely find another Where wild mountain thyme Grows around the blooming heather Will ye go, Lassie go?

Different 04:59
I've seen you before But not in this skin I've seen your face before But all in a dream I've seen this before But this time its gonna be different I know it'll be different It's gonna be different this time With only you my friend Take this hand I offer It only happens once Once and then it's over But it's not over (its not over) No its not over (its not over) Its only just begun To really make a difference Yea, we're gonna make a difference You and I We can be different If we try Let's make a difference You and I It can be very very very different This time Mmmm....yea Birds of a feather They're gonna stick together You can try and tear us apart But you won't get far No you won't get far We're gonna stick together Those birds of a feather You can try and tear us apart But you won't get far We'll stick together Birds of a feather They always stick together.

I'm Waiting 05:40
I'm waiting for a change in my life I'm waiting for a time that feels right I'm waiting inside a world of lost souls They're also waiting for a time to grow old And Its all inside our minds And we'll go on living Time after time Though they tell us That they'll send us all that we need By the time it gets here We're no longer in need We're waiting... I'm waiting for the wall to break down I'm waiting for a war to break out I'm waiting for I cannot help the poor They're also waiting for the food at their door Chorus We're all waiting for God to help us cope We're all searching for a glimmer of hope We'll all be waiting for a long long time Cause the answers we're looking for are deep, deep inside Chorus....

All that it took was the touch of his hand Caressing a baby who could barely even stand How can we know what really happened there This baby's face looks so scared Leave her alone She's only a baby Leave her alone She's just a child And now that it's over Doesn't mean she's OK Its only just begun Her life has just begun It took a load of courage to do what she's done It took a lot off her teenage years She's lost all she'd won She's burnin up in inside Help her to put out the fire You're all she requires CHORUS X2 Spoken Word: Mom: And tell Mommy again what you said you'd do to him if he came in here? Child: I said I'm gonna kick his ask. Mom: Oh, thats not nice. Child: If he gonna come in here, he's gonna kick my ask Mom: He will? Child: Yea, he'll come out of the movie, he'll come out, he'll come out and kick my ask, but I can kick his ask. Mom: But that's not a nice word, you should say kick his butt Child: Oh......

I'm just a poor wayfaring stranger A-traveling through, this world of woe. Yet there's no sickness, toil nor danger In that bright land, to which I go. I'm going there to see my father I'm going there no more to roam; I'm just go-ing over Jordan I'm just go-ing over home. I know dark clouds will gather round me I know my way is rough and steep; Yet beauteous fields lie just before me Where God's redeemed, their vigils keep I'm going there to see my mother She said she'd meet me when I come; I'm just go-ing over Jordan I'm just go-ing over home. I'm just a poor wayfaring stranger I'm just go-ing over home.
12.
Dominus Sanctus Amen Amen Everyday's a constant struggle In the world we're all in trouble Turn on the TV Propaganda runnin' wild We're all like children in a playground Never knowing when we'll fall Take my hand A better world Waits ahead CHORUS Then we'll walk over water Yes we'll walk over water Oh we'll walk over water To the other side Yeah....Oh....ohhh Feed the children kill the forests We're all blind until they show us Nothin' left now Unless we all Take control CHORUS
13.
Kimelly 05:08
Spoken: She came from the wilderness She danced like fire Like spark to a flame She drank my desire Your eyes They shine in the night And your smile It gleams like a childs When you walk all the world revolves around you Never looking back on what they say or do In time You never tapped your feet And with your mind There was always a guarantee I've always wondered How two young hearts could know so well They'd be the best of friends CHORUS: So open your heart, your heart baby And feel me inside you I warm the cold, the cold, the cold Held captive inside your soul Kimelly Yea.... So now Your show is on the line And you've moved up But they're not crying, no they're not crying So all you've missed is the tears for your compassion Nobody sees the love that is shot from your heart Chorus Vocal Break: No no no..... Um cha um cha um cha Chorus
14.
He's out by the campfire Jivin' with Doreen Pitchin his fastball mighty fine Smokin and swearin Don't care whose carin' In his Garden of Eden in the shade Pickled his own onions Stood his ground like a warrior Grass was always greener on the other side He wrangled seven children Chief of the fire In his Garden of Eden in the sun Oh... he can fly He is free to be Dancin with angels Shakin hands with Elvis Walkin the bases with Satchel Paige Meetin Ma and Daddy Plantin his own 'taters But thats nothing compared to his Garden of Eden in the stars Oh in the stars

Muddy Water 02:24
Look out for me, oh muddy water Your mysteries are deep and wide And I got a need for going some place And I got a need to climb upon your back and ride You can look for me when you see me comin' I may be runnin' I don't know I may be tired and runnin' fever But I'll be headed south to the mouth of the Ohio Look out for me, oh muddy water Your mysteries are deep and wide And I got a need for going some place And I got a need to climb upon your back and ride Well, I been down to the pain and sorrow Of no tomorrows comin' in But I put my pole to the river bottom And I've got to hide some place and find myself again Look out for me, oh muddy water Your mysteries are deep and wide And I got a need for going some place And I got a need to climb upon your back and ride
16.
The water is wide, I can-not cross o'er. And neither have I the wings to fly. Build me a boat that can carry two, And both shall row, my true love and I. A ship there is and she sails the seas. She's laden deep, as deep can be; But not so deep as the love I'm in And I know not if I sink or swim. I leaned my back up against a young oak Thinking he were a trusty tree but first he bended and then he broke Thus did my love prove false to me. O love is handsome and love is kind and loves a jewel while it is new but when its old love it growth cold And fades away like the morning dew.

Missing You 04:05
Well the wind is blowin the trees are swayin And I don't know what I should be sayin I'm missing you Well the sand is hot I could have forgot I'm here where I want to be not And I'm missing you Chorus: I......I'm missing you I......I'm missing you I feel the pain My heart's on fire To be with you Hey come back you got my heart Baby I'm torn apart To be with you Nothin else will do! Chorus I...I'm missing you I...I'm missing you I...I'm missing you I...I'm missing you Whoa...
18.
DANCING WITH TEARS IN MY EYES Those who dance and romance while they dance They seem so happy and gay Though they sing and they swing as they sway Somehow I can't feel that way For I'm dancing with tears in my eyes 'Cause the boy/girl in my arms isn't you Dancing with somebody new When it's you that my heart's calling to Trying to smile once in a while But I find it so hard to do For I'm dancing with tears in my eyes 'Cause the boy/girl in my arms isn't you Trying to smile once in a while But I find it so hard to do For I'm dancing with tears in my eyes 'Cause the boy/girl in my arms isn't you

about

"This album is a culmination of all of my musical influences over the years which includes the sounds of country, gospel, pop, rock, folk bluegrass and of course ROOTS."
There are some songs on the album which are traditional folk and gospel that I took and arranged to suit my style." The album is reminiscent of Eva Cassidy, Loreena McKennitt or Duncan Sheik with a taste of Ben Harper. Where within one album you will hear varying styles of music.
It is the soulful music of the southern gospel Baptist church, the haunting melodies of Scotland, the simple Country Pop and Folk of the prairies of Canada and the uplifting Bluegrass mountain music of the 1930’s with a contemporary twist. " I love the sound of tribal drums, rhythm guitar, accordian and strings...that flavors most of the music on here."
"It's the music that influenced me over the span of my career. I always wondered why I couldn't get this album made for some reason. It wasn't time. I needed to have all those musical experiences, to have the privilege to work with those incredible musicians like Bob Foster (Jann Arden, Rock of Ages, We Will Rock You), Jester Hairston (Amen, Mary's Boy Child) and Tony Quarrington and gain the knowledge and respect for the artists and styles, first and foremost, then it just came to me."
